Photo Lab Days Numbered., Nov 28, 2005

When I received the printer I tested it with photos that had been printed from a leading Chemist to see if the quality would compare, this was done by someone printing the exact photos on the 640PS without me seeing them, I then had to choose the best photos from the laid out sets, everyone I picked was printed on the 640PS Hi Ti, the density & colour were by far better than the ones printed at the chemist, and after working for Kodak for 24 years I am very fussy about printing. The 640PS printer is excellent in just 2 days I have already printed 100 prints with no waste, in the past I have tried most of the Ink jet range of printers but nothing gets close to the Hi Ti., Let’s leave Ink Jets for printing what they are good at, documents, shall we!

Well Chuffed !!!, Nov 28, 2005

After spending hours surfing the internet to find my father a digital photo printer that can be used without a PC I found my self confused to say the least! All the different makes and models under £200 seemed to be of a poor quality in terms of print and also not really that good a value for money, I then came across this site and discovered "HiTi Dye Sub" printers. Not a technology im familiar with and was a little dubious to say the least even after reading all the rave reviews, I contacted them by phone and spoke to Stuart i think, anyway he gave me full reasurances that this was the way forward with photo printing, (Still dubious though) and offerd me the 7 day trial, what did I have to loose? ordered it there and then ( 5.30pm ) .Day after next on the doorstep, excellent!!
Took it round to my Fathers as it was a birthday present, very easlily assembled everthing and within minutes I was printing my/his first photo's, he has no idea how to use a computer but after 10 mins tutorial he has got the HiTi well sorted, he is well chuffed and so am I, Guess What I Want For Christmas????
Top service
Top Product
Thanks very much.

I finally decided to purchase a Hi-Touch PS 640 Photo Printer on Monday - at 3.15pm on Monday afternoon I rang System Insight amd placed the order and was told it would be delivered the next day - true to there word it as delivered tha next day at 12.3o p.m. - wha great service. I found the PS 640 straight forward to set up (the only problem was me - I am somewhat disabled through illness). The time came to produce my first prints - wow what pictures they were great - I compared the same pictures with ones that had been produced by another photo printer which I thought were good pictures but the pictures produced on the PS 640 were a different class - excellent. I very much appreciate the first class service of all the staff when ordering the PS 640

Great Service, Great Printer, Jul 13, 2005

It's not often that you find a company where the service provided actually matches the claims that are made.
As the proud owner of a kyocera M400r I had been treking back and forth to the high street to have prints done straight from the memory card. Like others I had seen the Hi-touch range demonstrated on QVC. Doing a little research I came across the system insight website.
One phone call later and I took possession of a 631ps. The printer was easy to setup and can be put into service with very little reference to the instruction book.
This is where I have to make an admission, I placed the prints from the 631ps next to those produced by a professional print lab and compared them critically. To my eyes and tastes there was a lack of colour saturation to the prints from the 631ps.
This is where the guys at system insight made good all the promises on the website. Thanks to stuart I was able to compare outputs from the 631, 640, and 700 series printers and confirm that it was not a fault with the printer, I just did not like the output.
Under the home trial It was decided that I would upgrade the printer to the more expensive 640ps - which is just superb, The prints from the 640ps being of higher print density absolutly kick the 631 into touch, and are indistinguishable from the prints produced on the high street. ( A number of friends who are enthusiastic amatuers have been caught out when trying to "Guess the Picture.")
I won't knock the 631 an ideal lo-cost unit and ideal for those "Party Pictures" or for printing that picture that "Aunt Lavinia just has to have however the 640ps will more than adequatly suit those who cast a closer eye on the print quality.
I can thoroughly recommend the 640ps as a serious 6 x 4 printer and the level of service provided by the guys at system insight is second to none,
Thanks to Stuart and Simon for their patience, understanding and advice !

I purchased this printer to enable me to print photo's from my
iPhoto library on a Mac. It has done this faultlessly time and time
again, with quality that compares and maybe even better's a
traditional photo lab.
The only problem I have had is 'dust' getting into the unit when
not in use and this dust can be embedded onto your prints
during the output. I have made a printer cover to eliminate this
problem which I use everytime I turn the unit off (it works like a
charm). Perhaps System Insight will look into selling such a
cover in the future.
A great printer at a great price, take control of your photo's!
[Editor - Dust: If you keep the lid on the paper tray and only have the ribbon cover open when changing a ribbon then dust will not be problem. We haven't found dust to be an issue and as such haven't deemed a dust cover a requirement]

Easy to Use and great fun, Apr 16, 2005

I use an inkjet printer for high-volume plain paper work; it's not
particularly well-optimised for photos -- and besides, inkjet
photos run if they get wet, as the system insight people
demonstrate with such aplomb. So I bought the Hi-Ti printer to
plug the gap.
The Hi-Ti 640PS produces quick, high quality photo prints for
little money and is great for making copies of your pictures to
give to friends and relatives. My kids adore the photo stickers,
and everyone likes watching the print build up from the
individual colours. I've found it reliable and no trouble to use.
The 400dpi version was important to me because I wanted to
print stereocards (pairs of photos that can be viewed in 3-d);
these are viewed magnified so the higher resolution helps. But
for most people a 300dpi dyesub printer will be fine.

Excellant Printer, excellant service; second to none., Apr 14, 2005

I have carried out several tests using commercially produced test sheets which contain both colour and monochrome colour charts.
The results are, as I expected, excellent and having compared the source with the resultant prints produced by the 640PS I find that the difference between them is hardly noticeable and the print, except for its size, could easily be mistaken as being the source material. As for Digital photograph reproduction, words fail me in attempting to describe the excellance of the resultant prints. The 640PS is a pleasure to use and a novice will soon be at home with it's easily managable operating and editing system; both with a computer or in its stand-alone mode.
Delighted with the product and the efficient support service offered.
WELL DONE SYSTEM INSIGHT

Makes Digital Photography Real, Apr 13, 2005

How do you keep your dreams alive? We purchased a Hi-Ti 640PS to print the many digital camera pictures of the travels we have made. All too often you get "processed" pictures, which don't quite capture the essence of the shot you took. With the Hi-Ti 640PS and the easy to use software we have found that its easy to convert our digital media into the kind of pictures you can treasure
The quality is excellent, colours really vivid and sharp, it’s a real pleasure to print pictures for our friends and ourselves quickly and easily
If you aren’t a really serious photographer, but are serious about having photo’s that look like your memories then I would recommend you check out this printer. System Insight have given excellent service throughout so why not try Hi-Ti, I did and if I had the money, I’d buy the company !!

The perfect present, Apr 13, 2005

I have had an ink jet printer for printing our photographs for some time. However, the arrival of our first grandson created a need for handy sized high quality prints that was difficult to satisfy. Our family had the brilliant idea to buy us a printer that would satisfy our new needs and, after much research, we received a HiTi 640PS printer. To date the results have proved to be excellent in every respect; the perfect present indeed.

After spending a number of months trying to find a decent dye sublimation printer I bought a copy of Digital camera. The issue had a report on Photo printers both dye sublimation and ink jet. The HiTi 640PS was the best on review so a quick trawl on the net soon directed me to the system insight website. Great sevice, goods delivered promptly, super product which produces stunning quality prints from a variety of digital cameras.
