I bought this printer when I decided I was forever done with HP after they sold me a lemon of a PC and they had it more than I did the first year I owned it. Therefore when I needed a new printer I ignored HP even though friends said I should get HP. Only problem is that the Epson has really built up the printing from negatives which I really needed as I am putting old photos in albums and planned on using the printer.I soon found out that it only printed from 35mm slides or negs. I don't have 35mm. all my old films are 120, 127, etc. They were advertising another machine that would print from negs. so I called the company to see if they had plans to retrofit film holders for other sizes. no. I am at present working to make a film holder for my sizes of negs. and hope it will work.
I have an old picture of my fathers class in an old one-room school that is backwards and would like to make a mirror image of this also. This is mentioned in the quick guide and I have searched the Epson site to see how it is done but haven't stumbled on it yet. I have been told by others that it can be done but takes a lot of searching and time. I guess I will have to call tEpson to see if it can actually be done. Other than these two items I am fairly satisfied with the machine. However I understand that now they have a machine that has a cd tray that can print on cd's that you burn yourself if you buy the right cd's. I will probably be checking into that too. I have heard good reviews about it also.

We used this printer for quite a while and it performed satisfactorily. After less than 18 months of service we got an error message that can't be reset without service. When support was contacted they were going to charge a fee per minute or hour to troubleshoot even if they couldn't fix it.
CANON PIXMA MP600 is sitting in the Epson's place as of now.

EXCELLENT PHOTO PRINTER, EASY TO USE WITH SIMPLE TO FOLLOW DISPLAYS. ALSO GREAT FOR DOCUMENT PRINTING AND SCANNING. RECOMMENDED.

I was actually going to buy a Canon printer with similair features but it was unavailable due to shortage, so I looked at alternatives and chose the Epson RX620. I have only had it a few weeks but it has already proved brilliant. Its the first time I have had a 'multifunction' printer/scanner and I was a bit worried about it! The results are super for scanning and printing. Different inks are a bonus when they need replacing. Overall - very pleased
