Epson's Printer Direction is Fuzzy, Mar 26, 2008

In the past, I had been a big fan of Epson ink jet printers. My first one lasted about 5 years and probably could have been fixed with a good cleaning. Getting moderate to light usage it produced great quality and I was very happy. I purchased another one to replace it. That one lasted about 3 years. Purchased another one. That one lasted about 2 years. Then for Christmas about 3 years ago, I purchases 3 CX6600 for my 3 daughters who were all in college. They all failed within the first 2 years. Light usage.
Folks, the trend is obvious. Epson no longer cares to create a quality ink jet printer. At least not for the general consumer market. I would strongly discourage anyone from purchasing any Epson products until they can get their act together and stop ripping off the general public.

I can understand the print quality relationship with ink supply, this is defacto type operating protocol for these new generation printers however this most recent print quality failure has not been resolved with the normal ink change-outs and head cleanings recommended by Epson. No, the latest is a real head-scratcher print failure, one that I consider major. I get one color now....yellow. Boat Anchor worthy !!!

Friend brought Epson CX6600 from Singapore; Printing stopped
working in less than one year. User bought multiple cartridges...but
that did not resolve problem.
I've sworn to never buy an Epson printer as company has tried to
prevent third party cartridge competition via use of proprietary chip
in their printer cartridges.
