To buy Lexmark or not to buy Lexmark, May 27, 2006

I bought the Lexmark printer as a stop gap until I could buy a better printer. so far ir lives up to it's cheap and cheerful price. The biggest bugbear is the cost of the cartridges for the system and the abismal length of useage time. If you are looking for a cheap alternative this is ( at first sight) a good option but the results need to be looked at.
The only way to have a good result is to choose the top option and don't expect actual true reproduction of required colour ( not a very good repro of unknown colours ie pink, mauve etc).I will suffice until I can afford a better printer.
