What is Stand Alone capability?

Quite simply, this is the ability to use the printer without having to connect it to a computer. The P510S/K uses an in-built card reader to transfer images from the camera. If using the Si version of the P510 and a wireless transmitter on your camera, images can be transferred wirelessly without operator intervention.

Even if you are using a computer with a P510 as part of your workflow, and don't plan to use the printer stand alone, it is reassuring to know that this is an option should you ever have problems with the computer.

Stand alone printers typically have additional features which are built into the printer in the case of the HiTi P510 series and are often priced at the same level as other "standard" printers.
