Dye Sublimation printers are ideally suited for use in a Photo Booth. When using a printer in a photo booth certain considerations maybe more important than if you are choosing a printer for Event Photography.

Primarily Photo Booths are usually used to produce 6"x4" images or even 6"x2" which is the familiar "photo strip". 6"x2" images are produced from a 6"x4" prints although not all Dye Sublimation Printers support this 6"x2" size.

Currently (as at October 2011) the following printers support 6"x2" photo strip sizes.

• HiTi P720L Photo Printer
• Mitsubishi CP-D70DW
• Mitsubishi CPD707-DW (Double Deck Printer)

Please note a firmware upgrade maybe needed on your printer to enable this facililty and please check with us on Apple Mac OSX compatibility for 6"x2" print sizes as not all printers support this size when using an Apple Mac.

When printing a 6"x2" image you will use one complete 6x4 print, although depending upon the drivers it is possible to print 2x6"x2" prints from one 6"x4" print.

Whilst 6'X2" is not a popular print size in event Photography it is used to give a Photo Booth feel to a print or when used in a photo booth.
